Scotland 2023

I am now serving in Scotland after arriving late last week. I have been having a rough first few days unable to sleep properly, but I’m hoping I will be back to normal soon. I usually never have this problem, but a bunch of things have kept me from getting back on a good schedule.

However I am extremely thankful for the opportunity I have been given to preach and teach at the church here in northern Scotland. Since I surrendered to preach and be a missionary I have desired to do outreach in Scotland since this is where part of my heritage roots from here.

How did this opportunity present itself?

Well, this is one of the blessings of being single still, although my desire always has been to be married. God put it on my heart last year to reach out to Don Clough, a missionary my church supports. Since I was traveling to Ireland last year for a few months for the production of the Film "Slave to Servant," I made plans to visit Brother Clough to be an encouragement to his ministry and help with outreach efforts.

Unfortunately, my accident in Ireland happened days before I was supposed to visit Scotland, so I could not go, being laid up in bed recovering from my ankle fracture. But God, in His great wisdom, had plans for me to come this year instead. It worked out well because Brother Clough needed someone to cover for him as he returned to the States in May and June 2023. It's great to have opportunities like this that help me understand my life's purpose in Christ.

I am excited to do outreach projects that are constantly enriching experiences, especially in Scotland, with its rich history and culture. It's an opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives, to connect with the local community, and to share the message of hope and love. It can also be a chance to learn and grow, to gain a deeper understanding of my relationship with Christ and the ministry. I am sure Christ will do a lot in my heart and life as I serve here, and I hope to develop new skills and abilities.

Whether preaching, teaching, serving, or simply being present and listening, serving with a church and doing outreach projects can be a transformative experience that has a lasting impact on me and the individuals I meet. I also want to make a difference for Christ in the surrounding communities.

My first duty will be preaching for the Sunday and Wednesday night messages. This is something I am excited to do as I will have my first opportunity to preach every week at church consistently. Studying God's Word and searching the scriptures to teach and preach is rewarding, and I am passionate about that. I pray my efforts in preaching Christ and His Word faithfully will make a difference.
